NATIONAL SEVERE WEATHER WARNING SERVICE

Warning
- Rain

A Warning has been issued for the following regions

- North West England (Yellow)
- East Midlands (Yellow)
- Yorkshire & Humber (Yellow)
- East of England (Yellow)
- West Midlands (Yellow)
- Wales (Yellow)
- North East England (Yellow)

Further heavy showers or longer spells of rain are likely across much of northern, central and eastern England today with scattered thunderstorms also likely.

The public should be aware that locally large amounts of rainfall may bring a risk of surface water flooding, as well as difficult driving conditions at times.

The Amber area over the northeast Midlands has been removed since latest information suggests that conditions will not be as severe as originally expected. However, there remains the likelihood of further surface water flooding.
