NSWWS Self Registration - Reminder

NSWWS Registration

Dear reader

You are receiving this e-mail as an existing recipient of the National Severe Weather Warning Service (NSWWS). It contains important information about registering your contact details for receipt of warnings.

Thankyou to all those who have already signed up to continue to recieve warnings.

This email is to remind those of you that haven't already signed up to do so as soon as possible, it will only take a few minutes.

Background

As part of the improvements to the NSWWS that began with the launch of the new style weather warnings in March 2011, the Met Office is improving the registration process for the NSWWS. To do this, we have developed a new database for contacts which will provide improvements to the service provided by the current NSWWS database. We are therefore asking all existing users to re-register their delivery details for receiving warnings.

http://info.ma002.com/anony/r.asp?c=...0&mid=3589&v=4

We have made a number of improvements to the registration system, the key changes are:

.. No primary users - There will no longer be primary users who are responsible for keeping all delivery details up to date for an organisation. This will avoid issues when primary users leave an organisation without passing on log in details, so contact details cannot be updated.
.. Single user log in - Each individual will have their own username and password and will be responsible for keeping their own delivery details up to date.
.. No limit on organisation delivery points - With the removal of primary users, there will no longer be a limit of 12 delivery points per organisation. You can enter as many separate sets of delivery points as you wish.

Action required

To ensure we have an up to date list of all contacts we are starting with a clean database and asking users to re-register rather than migrating across the current users. This will ensure we have all your latest delivery details and no out of date information.

If you are an existing user of Hazard Manager, or one of our subscription services, you should use the following instructions:

.. Log into Hazard Manager using your normal user name and password

http://info.ma002.com/anony/r.asp?c=...0&mid=3589&v=4

.. Click on the My Account button in the top right-hand corner
.. Click on the Delivery Details tab
.. Using the drop down menu, select NSWWS Warnings and Alerts
.. You can then follow the on screen instructions to add your details

The process will only take a few minutes to complete.

If you are not currently registered for Hazard Manager or any of our other subscription services you will need to register first Once your registration is approved and activated simply follow the instructions above.

Timescales

We will start to use the new database to distribute warnings from summer 2012 You need to have registered by then to ensure you continue to receive your warnings as the current database will be removed from service.

Until summer 2012 warnings will continue to be distributed to those contacts in the current database. Any changes you make in the new database will not be implemented until then. If you need to make any immediate updates to your contact details in the current database now, please contact your local PWS Advisor

Help

The registration process is designed to be as simple as possible. However, if you experience any difficulties please contact our Weather Desk who will be happy to help you.

Kind Regards
Pat Boyle

Patrick,

Will you be able to re-register us?
